🧱 Base Qty Part 1 32×32 Baseplate

🧱 Support Bricks

These bricks create the structure of the MILS plate.

I used Medium Stone Gray (Light Bluish Gray) for these parts, but since they won't be visible once the build is complete, any color will work.

🌿 Surface Plates

These plates create the top surface of the MILS plate.

I prefer Green because if I ever remove a building or scene, I instantly have grass underneath. Feel free to use whatever color best represents the terrain in your city.

💡 Alternate Surface Options

I like using four 16×16 plates, but you can use any combination of plate sizes that completely covers the MILS plate.

For example:

Using smaller plates can make it easier to customize the terrain later.

I also recommend keeping your plate sizes reasonably consistent. Using mostly the same size plates (such as 16×16 or 4×4) helps avoid ending up with odd filler pieces like 2×12 or 1×10 plates.

Note: Available in LEGO City Set 60304, which includes 4 road plates.

⬆️ Under the Road Plates

Raise the road plates by one plate so they sit flush with the surrounding LEGO surface.

I used Medium Stone Gray (Light Bluish Gray), but these parts won't be visible, so any color will work.

🚶 Sidewalks – Technic Connection (Recommended)

This is the version I use in the video. It allows adjacent Road/Rail MILS plates to connect using Technic pins.

🚶 Sidewalks – Standard Brick

Replace the Technic bricks with standard bricks if you don't plan to connect adjacent Road/Rail MILS plates.

🚋 Beside the Rails

Fills the space beside each rail.

🚋 Between the Rails

Creates the paved surface between the rails.

🚗 Road Surface

Finishes the road surface.

Note: The four 2×4 Road Marking Tiles are included in LEGO City Set 60304.

Connecting Multiple Road/Rail MILS Plates: Replace the two 1×4 tiles at each connecting end with two 2×4 tiles to keep the road surface flush.

🛣️ Road Edge & Lane Line

Creates the outside edge of the road.

I used White for the lane line, but feel free to use any color that fits your city.
